The Joint Center for Asian Law Studies was founded in June, 2010 as a collaboration between the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and Renmin University of China School of Law in Beijing. 

The Joint Center’s Mission is to utilize scholarly inquiry and open dialogue to promote mutual understanding and goodwill between the countries of East Asia and the United States, specifically with regard to the content and development of laws and the role of law in society. To these ends, the partners in the Joint Center will encourage the following:

  • collaborative scholarship
  •  jointly sponsored conferences
  • exchanges of faculty and students
