Ledy VanKavage, Esq., Senior Director of Legislation and Legal Training, ASPCA, will speak Thursday, April 5, at 5:30 p.m. in the Wynne Courtroom (room 100) at the IU-Indianapolis School of Law, 530 W. New York Street. Topics she will address include Cracking Down on Animal Cruelty, Common Sense Solutions to Dog Bites, and Canine Profiling.
Ms. VanKavage began her legal career as a judicial law clerk for the Illinois Appellate Court and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois. In addition to her work with the ASPCA she has served as an attorney advisor for the U.S. Health and Human Services. She is a Vice-Chair of the American Bar Associations Animal Law Committee, and Chair of the ABAs Dangerous Dog Subcommittee. She also serves on the Animal Farm Foundation Board. Ms. VanKavage has a B.S. in Zoology and a J.D. from St. Louis University.
