Award-winning author, law professor and speaker David Cole talks about his new book, a critique of the Bush administration's "preventive paradigm" in the "war on terror." Professor Cole demonstrates that the post-9/11 turn to preventive coercion has not only sacrificed some of our most fundamental principles, but has actually made us less secure from threats of terrorism.

"This compelling, necessary volume demolishes the doctrine of preemptive self defense as a dangerous oxymoron, whose acceptance will surely render us less safe, less free, less American, and less able to lead globally through the rule of law."
-Harold Hongju Koh, Dean of Yale Law School

Parking is available for a nominal fee at the Natatorium Garage two blocks west of the law school.
After the general event, there will be a meeting for IU-Indy law students interested in forming a chapter of the American Constitution Society at the Law School. If you are interested in forming an ACS chapter, please contact Professor Robert Katz at rokatz@iupui.edu, and check out ACS’s website at http://www.acslaw.org .
