Kevin R. ErdmanStudents with an interest in intellectual property law are invited to the IP Center on the Canal on April 12 at 12:45 for an informative and entertaining presentation on a subject that just may be of more than academic interest to many students: digital copying of copyrighted material, including an analysis of Digital Millennium Copyright Act and Communications Decency Act statutory liability issues, the Napster-Grokster contributory/inducement opinions, and the social network policies that are in effect with the major sites. Kevin Erdman, a senior partner at Baker & Daniels, LLP, is a distinguished IP attorney who has been repeatedly honored in the area of Intellectual Property law by The Best Lawyers in America and Indiana Super Lawyers. He practices primarily in information, Internet and intellectual property (patent, trademark and copyright) law. He has represented clients ranging from start-up companies to multinational corporations in Internet business protection matters. His experience also includes assisting clients in U.S. and foreign patents; domain name disputes; software and content licensing; distribution and development agreements; electronic commerce agreements and procedures; privacy policies; patent licensing; and trademark and copyright registration, licensing and litigation. In life sciences, he has represented medical technology and bioinformatics companies in patent and agreement transactions.
