The Center for Intellectual Property Law and Innovation is proud to host Cedric DHue, DHue Law LLC, a 2005 alumnus of the IU School of Law-Indianapolis, on October 5th at 12:45 p.m. at the IP Center located on the Canal. Law School Students with an interest in intellectual property law are invited to his presentation titled Financial Considerations with Starting your Own Law Firm. Mr. DHue started his law firm in 2009 after working as a Patent Attorney for Baker & Daniels for 4 years.
DHue Law specializes in Intellectual Property (Patents, Trademarks, and Copyrights), and general business advice and counsel. In practicing intellectual property law, his focus is on patent prosecution and patentability analysis, including preparing and prosecuting patents related to chemical and mechanical devices. Mr. DHues practical understanding of inventions is rooted in his strong academic background and work experience in chemistry. His experiences as a chemist, a chemistry student and graduate teaching assistant give him a broad theoretical understanding. Cedric worked as an analytical chemist at Copley Pharmaceutical and TEVA USA Inc. in Canton, Mass. While receiving his masters degree in analytical chemistry, he participated in the Industrial Co-op Program at Heritage Environmental Services. As a graduate and undergraduate teaching assistant, Cedric instructed laboratory classes on numerous chromatography and spectroscopy techniques. His graduate thesis is on computer simulations of a Diels-Alder cycloaddition using stereospecific catalysts.
At the Law School, Mr. DHue was named to the Order of the Barristers, worked on the Indiana Health Law Review, and represented IU School of Law-Indianapolis at the Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition as well as the National Health Law Moot Court Competition.
