Amie Peele Carter will be our November 10 speaker for the IP Center Luncheon Speaker Series. Students with an interest in intellectual property law are invited to the IP Center on the canal on Thursday, November 10 at 12:45 p.m. for Carters talk How to Prepare for a Sports Law Practice While Youre Still in Law School. Carter was a speaker at the IP CLE panel on September 27 and she is returning by popular demand. Carter, a partner at Baker & Daniels, is a member of the firms trademark, copyright and e-commerce group of the intellectual property practice, she represents clients ranging from entrepreneurs to international organizations. She is also an active member of the firms sports and entertainment practice team devoting much of her time to representing artists, musicians and sports organizations. Amie focuses her practice in the areas of branding (with an emphasis on re-branding initiatives), licensing, social media and publishing (in traditional electronic formats). She received B.A. in Philosophy, magna cum laude, from Millsaps College, and earned a J.D. from Emory University School of Law.
