The 2012 Women's Caucus Auction benefits the Bette J. Dick GAL for Kids Program at Kids Voice of Indiana and will take place on Thursday, February 16, 2012 beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Robert H. McKinney School of Law.
Children who are involved in divorce, visitation, guardianship, adoption,or paternity cases often have no voice in the the decisions that will impact the rest of their lives. Bette J. Dick GAL for Kids Program at Kids Voice of Indiana, tries to fill that void by providing volunteer guardian ad litems (GAL). GALs are community volunteers, pro bono attorneys and law students who are trained to represent and protect the best interest of children - giving children a voice. Kids Voice of Indiana trains volunteers to effectively serve the child and provide parctical assiatance to the court for its decision-making. Increasing the number of trained volunteers is important for serving the growing population of children that need a voice.
The Womens Caucus would like to help train at least 40 new guardian ad litems to serve children in our community. We hope you will help our effort.
