Hongbin Bao is an M&A practitioner with extensive experience representing both U.S. based multinational companies and China based multinational companies in connection with their China-related transactions around the world.
With 5-year general practice experience in China, and LL.M. (2004) and J.D. (2007) degrees from the Indiana University McKinney School of Law, Mr. Bao started his cross-border legal career as an associate in a China-boutique firm located in Houston, and then in a New York based international law firm’s Beijing office. Later, Mr. Bao served as a partner in a leading Chinese securities law firm and then as a general counsel in a Europe based real estate company in Beijing.
Mr. Bao is a visiting scholar at the IU-McKinney School of Law.
Doing Business Internationally
Speaker: Fabiana Lattea
Speaker Bio: Before coming to the U.S., Fabiana practiced law in Brazil for over ten years. Fabiana started her career as an attorney representing clients in civil, corporate, contracts, consumer, and environmental litigation procedures. Fabiana later changed the focus of her practice to primarily work as a transactional lawyer, providing strategic advice on various legal matters including formation, registration and structuring of for profit and non-profit organizations, mergers and acquisitions, joint venture relationships, corporate governance, and counseling on environmental and other insurance coverage, permitting, and regulatory compliance and enforcement matters. Drafting, revising, negotiating and managing complex purchase and sales agreements, confidentiality, services, and intercompany contracts and real estate leases. Fabiana also has extensive experience appearing before state, federal and municipal government agencies representing both individual and corporate clients.
Since early 2012 Fabiana has been working for Closure Systems International, an Indianapolis based corporation with more than $1,200,000,000 in annual revenue and operations in 30+ countries. Fabiana is one of the three members of the company’s Legal Department, which provides counsel for multiple regions throughout the world including Asia, Europe, Japan, Middle East, and Central, North and South America. The department provides advices on a variety of legal matters including global management training, performing due diligence, overseeing domestic and international litigation, drafting, revising, negotiating and managing complex purchase and sales agreements, intellectual property issues and licenses, employment and severance contracts, confidentiality, services, and intercompany agreements, real estate leases, merger and acquisitions, joint venture relationships, insurance coverage, regulatory and compliance and enforcement matters.
Fabiana holds a Juris Doctor equivalent degree from Universidade Paulista in Brazil and a Master of Laws degree from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.
