Chasity Thompson was named Asst. Dean for the Office of Professional Development after serving as the director and the associate director for the office. She graduated magna cum laude from Alabama State University with degrees in English and Business Administration. She earned a Master of Business Administration from Auburn University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where she actively participated in and chaired numerous school, legal and community functions. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Indiana University.

Following law school, Thompson served for two years as a judicial clerk to Chief Justice Randall T. Shepard of the Indiana Supreme Court. Licensed to practice law as a member of the Indiana Bar, Thompson was named as one of the 2007 "Up and Coming" lawyers for the Leadership in Law series by the Indiana Lawyer and is the 2006 recipient of the Raab Emison Award for her commitment to diversity in the legal profession.

Thompson currently serves as one of five representatives for the state of Indiana on the American Bar Association House of Delegates (law making arm of the ABA). Additionally, she serves on the Board of Governors for the Indiana State Bar Association and the Board of Directors for the Indianapolis Bar Association. In 2010, she received a presidential citation for her service to the Indiana legal community. In 2011, she was honored as one of Indy’s Best and Brightest by the Junior Achievement organization. In 2012, she became a Distinguished Fellow by the Indiana Bar Foundation. Also, she received the Early Career Achievement award from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law Alumni Association. In 2013, Thompson was named to the 40 under 40 list by the Indianapolis Business Journal. Committed to diversity, Thompson received the Raab Emison award for diversity and co-chaired the inaugural Diversity in Practice conference. She also co-chaired the Indiana Legal Education Conclave to examine the changes in the legal profession, and she serves on the IBA Diversity Job Fair committee. Thompson was named “Up and Coming Lawyer” by the Indiana Lawyer, a publication for lawyers in the state. She also served as a Volunteer Team Lead for the National BMBA Conference held in Indianapolis in 2012. She is the immediate past president of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Chi Chi Omega chapter, and is a member of New Life Worship Center.

Thompson's responsibilities include managing all activities of the Office of Professional Development, fostering and maintaining effective working relationships with legal employers, counseling and assisting alumni and students with job search strategies and judicial clerkship opportunities, developing and implementing professional development etiquette programming and administering the on-campus interview program. Also, Thompson helped to establish a new course designed to assist students with Practice Management concepts.
