Mandar Joshi, Ph.D., '12
Mandar Joshi, Ph.D., '12, is an associate at the renowned intellectual property law firm of Saliwanchik Lloyd & Eisenschenk in Gainesville, Floridia, a pioneer in biotechnology and pharmaceutical patent law. Dr. Joshi’s areas of practice include U.S. patent prosecution, patentability opinions, and freedom-to-operate and infringement opinions. As our law school’s most outstanding IP student in 2011-2012, Dr. Joshi was our law school’s 2012 nominee for the AIPLF Jan Jancin awards. Dr. Joshi’s law school excellence mirrored his earlier academic success, having graduated with a BS in Biology from the University of Mumbai, and later obtaining a MS in Biotechnology from the University of Mumbai, culminating his scientific education with a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the prestigious Indiana University School of Medicine. While in law school, Dr. Joshi was active in pursuing scientific research as a research technician in the Indiana University School of Medicine. He also earlier gained valuable experience in the practice of intellectual property law as a Patent Technical Specialist at the Washington D.C. office of Faegre Baker Daniels.
