Abby Daniels, '06, is Purdue's Legal Services Coordinator, Managing Public Records Office
Abby Daniels, ’06, is back home in Indiana, working for Purdue University’s Office of Legal Counsel. Daniels, no relation to Purdue’s president and the state’s former governor, has a background in higher education, having just left a position with Illinois State University’s Civil Service System in Urbana.
Moving back to Indiana was appealing to Daniels for a lot of reasons, the opportunity to work for a newly created Office of Legal Counsel chief among them, she said. Purdue has historically contracted with a law firm for its legal needs, and working for an in-house office that’s still in its beginnings was appealing, Daniels said.
In addition to other duties, Daniels will oversee the university’s public records function, as all of those requests will now filter through the Office of Legal Counsel.
