Professor Silva Part of Public Dialogue on Trayvon Martin Case
Professor Lahny Silva took part in the IUPUI Dialogue Series on the Trayvon Martin case.
Sponsored by the campus’s Multicultural Success Center and the Intergroup Dialogue Group, the series will explore race, politics and justice in discussions titled “America after Trayvon Martin.” The teenager was killed in 2012 and the gunman was acquitted in July 2013.
Professor Silva was part of a panel that talked about the legal aspects and implications of the case. The panel discussion was held at Hine Hall, Room 132, on October 31.
Other sessions in the series examined the impact of social injustice, avoiding conflict, and cultivating positive change, among others.
