Karen Dow, '79, Receives Accolade from San Diego Business Journal
Karen Dow, ’79, a partner in the San Diego office of Sughrue Mion, PLLC, has been named one of the city’s “Women Who Mean Business” by the San Diego Business Journal. The award honors women for excellence in the workplace and in their community endeavors.
Dow focuses her practice on patent prosecution and client counseling. She has more than 20 years of patent experience in biotechnology and pharmaceutical issues including work as patent counsel for Eli Lilly and Company and Triton Biosciences.
Dow has been included in Patent Buddy's 2011 Top Patent Prosecutors Survey – less than 2 percent of registered patent attorneys were selected for this honor. She was also selected as one of the "Top 10 Intellectual Property Lawyers" by the San Diego Daily Transcript 2005-2007. Additionally, she has been a nominee for the Athena Pinnacle Award, Individual in Technology, in 2004 and 2006, and was recognized as one of the 2012 Top Attorneys “Transcript 10” in San Diego County and San Diego.
