IU McKinney LL.M. Alumnus Completes Ph.D. at Arizona
IU McKinney alumnus Duncan Ojwang, LL.M.,’11, completed his doctorate in law and policy at the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law.
A licensed attorney in Illinois, Ojwang, successfully defended his doctoral dissertation titled “Towards a New Understanding of the Indian Child Welfare Act” on November 19.
After completing his LL.M. in international human rights law at IU McKinney, Ojwang pursued doctoral studies in Arizona at James E. Rogers College of Law in the Indigenous Peoples Law and Policy Program.
While a student at IU McKinney, Ojwang served as an international human rights law intern at the Women Rights Initiative in Jinja, Uganda, as well as at the Legal Aid Centre of Eldoret in Kenya. Ojwang also participated in the International Criminal Court review conference in Kampala, Uganda.
Ojwang completed his bachelor’s degree in psychology at Indiana University South Bend in 2006.
