Two IU McKinney Alumni To Be Honored With The Hine Medallion
Steve Tuchman, ’71, and Jerry Withered, ’80, will receive a Maynard K. Hine Medallion for service to the IUPUI campus. The medal honors alumni who make significant contributions in support of the campus and its alumni programs. Tuchman and Withered will receive their medallions at the annual IUPUI Alumni Leaders’ dinner on February 27.
Tuchman is a member of IU McKinney’s Board of Visitors. He is a director at Lewis & Kappes, P.C. in downtown Indianapolis, where he is widely known for his concentration in immigration and nationality law, with additional experience in real estate, corporate and business law.
Withered is a summa cum laude graduate and is a partner at Withered Burns & Persin in Lafayette. He is a member of the IU Alumni Association as well as the IU McKinney Alumni Association Board of Directors. He is known for his work in the Indiana State Bar Association, Tippecanoe County Bar Association, as well as on behalf of the Tippecanoe County Public Library.
Several IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law alumni have been recipients of the medal, which was first awarded in 1974. The medal is named for IUPUI’s first chancellor, Maynard K. Hine, who believed in the power of a strong alumni program. Jimmie “Tic Tac” McMillian, ’02, received a Hine Medallion in 2013.
