Melissa Clark, '01, Serving as Prosecutor in Florida
Melissa Clark, ’01, has been chosen by Florida State Attorney R.J. Larizza to supervise the Flagler County office. In that role, she will prosecute felony cases, as well as manage a team of assistant state attorneys, investigators, and administrative staff.
A news story about Clark’s new position was published in the Daytona Beach News-Journal.
Clark’s parents are originally from Indiana, the news story explains, which prompted her to want to attend university here. She taught math and science to high school students for two years after she graduated from Indiana University Bloomington before deciding to enroll at IU McKinney. While in law school, she clerked with the federal public defender’s office, which helped her decide that she wanted to pursue a career on the prosecutor side of the aisle.
