Four Professors from IU McKinney Conduct Legislative Drafting Workshop in Vietnam

IU McKinney Professors in HanoiProfessors Cynthia Adams, Xuan-Thao Nguyen, David Orentlicher, and Frank Sullivan, Jr., presented a workshop on legislative drafting in Hanoi, Vietnam June 2 through 4. The event was attended by more than 100 government officials from the Ministry of Justice, the Vietnam Supreme People’s Court, law professors, lawyers from the financial sector, and bankers.

“The Legislative Drafting Workshop was significant,” said Professor Nguyen. “Vietnam, specifically the policy makers, lawyers, law professors, and bankers in the financial sector, want to learn from the U.S. experience and international best practices in legislative drafting. We, the four law professors from the McKinney School of Law, had the honor of conducting the workshop. We were impressed by the active participation from the attendees.”

The workshop was organized by the International Finance Corporation World Bank, and the Vietnam Bankers Association.
