Professor David Orentlicher on No Limits June 10
Professor David Orentlicher will be a guest on the 90.1 WFYI Public Radio program “No Limits” from 1 to 2 p.m. June 10. The show’s topic will be “The Mount Vernon Assembly,” a national group of state legislators that will meet June 12 at the Indiana Statehouse to discuss potential changes to the United States Constitution. Other guests will include former Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Randall T. Shepard, now a visiting professor at IU McKinney and executive in residence at the Indiana University Public Policy Institute, and Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller.
Professor Orentlicher was a member of the Indiana House of Representatives from 2002 to 2008. During his time in office, he wrote legislation to make health insurance more affordable, increase the pool of venture capital for new businesses, and ensure the better protection of children from abuse and neglect.
Professor Orentlicher is Samuel R. Rosen Professor at IU McKinney. A scholar of constitutional law, and co-director of the Hall Center for Law and Health, he also has taught at Princeton University and the University of Chicago Law School. He earned degrees in law and medicine at Harvard and specializes as well in health care law and ethics.
