Sun Yat-sen Students Visit U.S. District Court
Students from Sun Yat-sen University Law School participating in the IU McKinney Summer Program in American Law met with Judge William T. Lawrence, ’73, of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. Judge Lawrence answered students’ questions about the selection process for federal judges in the U.S. and about the jurisdiction of federal courts. Judge Lawrence also discussed with the students lessons he had learned about the Chinese judicial system during his visit to China in June, when he was a guest of China’s National Judges College in Beijing.
