Dean Bravo Appointed to the CEELI Council of the ABA Rule of Law Initiative
Dean Karen Bravo has been appointed to a one-year term on the Central European and Eurasian Law Initiative Council (CEELI) of the American Bar Association's Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI).
Since 1990, ABA ROLI has operated in more than 80 countries to strengthen societies and improve the lives of everyday citizens. As the ABA’s first overseas legal technical assistance program, CEELI worked in 28 counties across the region, and is now active in 17 countries. CEELI programs in Europe and Eurasia strengthen legislation and legal institutions, promote international human rights standards, help combat corruption and promote public integrity measures, foster judicial independence, and increase access to justice. Its work focuses on building the capacity of local organizations and host country government entities to sustain reform efforts. Dean Bravo served as a Rule of Law Liaison in the Republic of Armenia in 2002 to 2003.
