Professor Winters to Take Part in Health Law Scholars Workshop
Professor Diana R.H. Winters has been chosen to be a participant in the 2013 Health Law Scholars Workshop. The workshop is sponsored by the American Society of Law, Medicine & Ethics and the Saint Louis University Center for Health Law Studies.
“This is a competitive workshop, and I am excited to have been chosen,” she said.
Professor Winters will present her paper, “A Word of Caution: The need to account for consideration of existing tort liability schemes in FDA risk/benefit determinations when altering preemption doctrine,” at the workshop October 10-12, 2013.
Professor Winters joined the IU McKinney faculty in August 2012. Before arriving in Indiana, she was a visiting assistant professor at Boston University School of Law, where she also was the Health Law Scholar. Professor Winters teaches health law, torts, and FDA law. She is part of the law school’s Hall Center for Law and Health, which is home to the Indiana Health Law Review, frequent guest presentations by leading academics, judges, bioethicists and health law practitioners, and major conferences.
