IU McKinney Hosts International Conference
Around 100 legal scholars from around the world gathered at the IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law for the second annual New Perspectives in Comparative Law Conference. The event was April 18 and 19. The Younger Comparativists Committee of the American Society of Comparative Law sponsors the conference to highlight, develop and promote the scholarship of new and younger comparativists.
Panels addressing topics as diverse as the comparativist perspective on intellectual property and technology to issues in transnational criminal law were held throughout the law school, kicking off in the late afternoon on April 18 before a welcome reception at the downtown Indianapolis office of Barnes & Thornburg. The entire day April 19 was devoted to more panel discussions.
Participants with ties to the law school included Ying Chen, LL.M. ’07 and S.J.D. ’13; Angelique Devaux, LL.M. ’13; Arafa; and Professors James Nehf, Margaret Ryznar, Yvonne Dutton; and Boyne.
