Professor Huffman Offers Insights to Ruling on Apple e-Book Sales
U.S. District Judge Denise Cote in Manhattan ruled July 10 that Apple colluded with five of the six major publishers to raise prices for electronic books, citing emails from the late CEO Steve Jobs and messages from other company executives.
IU McKinney Professor Max Huffman offered commentary for a story about the ruling in the San Jose Mercury News published July 11.
"Now the Department of Justice is emboldened to continue to challenge what Apple does in the future, and so are the states,” Huffman said in the story.
Professor Huffman teaches antitrust, bankruptcy, consumer law, and commercial law, and is a Dean’s Fellow. His scholarly interests lie primarily in the areas of competition and consumer law. He joined the faculty in 2008.
