IU McKinney Dean Andy Klein and Vice Dean Antony Page will participate in panel discussions with the topic “The Future of Legal Education” during the Indiana State Bar Association’s Bench-Bar Symposium on December 4.
During the event in downtown Indianapolis at the J.W. Marriott, Dean Klein will first take part in a panel discussion that will examine the recommendations made by the ABA Task Force on the Future of Legal Education. The topic repeats later in the day during the symposium with a different lineup of panelists that will include Vice Dean Page. Retired Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Randall T. Shepard, who headed the ABA’s task force and is a visiting professor at IU McKinney, will participate in both panel discussions.
This is the first time since 1999 the state bar has staged a bench-bar symposium. The event, titled “The Future of the Courts and the Legal Profession: A Statewide Bench-Bar Symposium,” the day-long event is preceded by a judicial reception on December 3.
