IU McKinney Alumna Appointed to Head Auto Dealer Services Division
Elizabeth Murphy, ‘04, has been appointed to head up the Auto Dealer Services Division for the Secretary of State’s office. In this role, Murphy will lead the state’s efforts to regulate the motor vehicle industry, which includes overseeing new and used car dealers and wholesalers, car and RV manufacturers, watercraft dealers and salvage yards.
Murphy currently serves as General Counsel at the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles, a position she has held since July of 2010. Prior to this role, she served as staff attorney within the agency beginning in September of 2009. She also worked in private practice for three years before joining state government.
Murphy is replacing Carol Mihalik, ’95, who was appointed Indiana Securities Commissioner.
