Professor Emily BenferProfessor Emily Benfer, ’05, a cum laude graduate of IU McKinney, has received the inaugural Schweitzer Leadership Award. Benfer is a clinical professor of law at Loyola. The clinic is a medical-legal partnership, where law students work with social work students, attorneys, and health-care providers to identify social and legal problems that negatively impact the health of low-income patients, and take the necessary steps to resolve them. The clinic has helped 1,200 clients since its beginning in 2010.
