IU McKinney Alumnus Works for Orphanage in Nepal
Some might consider a life like that of Jeff Papa, J.D. ’99 and LL.M. ’10, as being pretty full. Papa’s day job is chief of staff and legal counsel for the Indiana Senate, where he’s an adviser to lawmakers and in charge of about 150 employees. After business hours, he’s also president of Zionsville Town Council, working on a doctorate in education leadership, and father to two elementary school-aged girls.
But Papa hasn’t stopped there. He is active with the Youth Enhancement and Training Initiative, an Indianapolis-based nonprofit that he founded to build and sustain an orphanage in Nepal, Southeast Asia. (In the photo is Papa with some of the children his work has assisted in Nepal.) A story on how Papa founded the organization, and why the initiative is so important to him, appeared in a February 22 story published in the Indianapolis Star.
