Legal Writing Program
The nationally-recognized Legal Analysis, Research, and Communication (LARC) program at IU McKinney Law is much more than a writing class. It is a comprehensive program that lays the foundation for all of your legal studies and professional work.
The importance of analytical, research and writing skills to the work of lawyers and judges cannot be over-emphasized. For this critical part of your legal education, you will have the benefit of a program that has been ranked in the top 10 in the nation for six consecutive years. In addition to core classes on analysis and communication (including oral and written arguments), we also offer electives such as:
- Advanced Persuasive Writing and Oral Advocacy
- Appellate Advocacy Clinic
- Contract Drafting
- Moot Court Competitions
- Scholarly writing opportunities on student-run law reviews
