How many scholarships does the law school offer?

The law school offers more than 50 donor-funded scholarships to our students. The majority of scholarships are awarded for a single academic year, with a select few renewable for future academic years based on GPA requirements.

» Descriptions of Scholarships

The law school’s Scholarships and Awards Committee will determine which scholarships a student qualifies for based on the information provided on the student’s scholarship application. Students may also apply for scholarships determined by external scholarship committees.

How do I apply for scholarships?

The law school online scholarship applications will be available to current J.D. students in February and remain open until the deadline noted for each application.

» Apply for Scholarships

There will be one online application for all scholarships determined by the law school’s Scholarships and Awards Committee. There will be additional applications available online for scholarships available to our students that are not determined by law school’s Scholarships and Awards Committee, but they are determined by external scholarship committees. Students must submit the necessary application materials for each scholarship for which they want to be considered.

What happens once I apply for scholarships?

Once the student submits the online scholarship application, the law school’s Scholarships and Awards Committee will review all applications and make final selections in June. Scholarship recipients will be notified by letter in July from the Office of Student Affairs of the scholarship name, criteria, amount, and awarding term.

For those scholarships determined by an external scholarship committee, the recipient will be notified by letter once the final selections are determined.

If I am awarded a scholarship, how will I receive the funds?

Scholarship funds will be applied to the recipient’s bursar account by mid-August for most scholarships. If this is not the case, the recipient will be notified of alternative arrangements.

Are students eligible to receive multiple scholarships?

Yes, students are eligible to apply for and receive multiple scholarships. If a student receives a scholarship from the Admissions Office, they may also apply for donor-funded scholarships.

Can a scholarship be revoked?

If at any time there is a change in student status so that the student no longer meets the specific scholarship criteria, then the scholarship may be revoked. This could include, but not be limited to, GPA and full-time vs. part-time status.
