Bankruptcy Judge, U.S. District Court, Southern District of Indiana
Judge Robyn Moberly, ’78 has been appointed to a 14-year term as United States Bankruptcy Judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. She took office November 1, 2012.
Judge Moberly is a cum laude graduate of the law school and received her bachelor’s degree in economics from IU in 1975. She had a general civil practice prior to being elected to the Superior Court in Marion County in 1996. She served as associate presiding judge of the Superior Court form 2005-2006. Judge Moberly is vice president of the law school’s alumni association.
“I am very happy as a state trial judge, but I have long felt like there was another chapter in my work life, and I was looking for a new challenge,” Judge Moberly said. “I was thrilled beyond words when I got the call that I had been selected,” she added.
Judge Moberly is a member of the American Bar Association, the Indiana Judges Association, the Indiana State Bar Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association, the Marion County Bar Association, the National Association of Women Judges, and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.
