PreLaw Magazine: Top & Best Lists
Programs at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney have been chosen repeatedly for the “Top" and "Best" lists in PreLaw Magazine.
Lawyers of Color: Top 5, Midwest Region
The magazine Lawyers of Color named Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law to its issue titled “The Black Law Student’s Guide to Law Schools” 2019 edition. The guide examines job placement rates for graduates, as well as percentages of black students and faculty in determining its ratings. Operating under the premise that “law school students are best served when they attend law schools in regions where they would like to work,” the magazine calls the law schools that made its listing “highly-regarded,” and “excellent institutions” that produced graduates “well positioned to have successful legal careers without the burden of excessive loan debt.” IU McKinney made the top five list for the Midwest region, among schools from Illinois, Ohio and Missouri.
U.S. News and World Report
USNWR ranked several programs at IU McKinney School of Law very highly in their 2023 Best Graduate Schools edition (released March 2022). IU McKinney ranked 17th for Health Care Law, 15th for Legal Writing, and 23rd for the part-time law program.
Indiana Super Lawyers
IU McKinney had the most alumni chosen for the 2019 Indiana Super Lawyers List of any law school. IU McKinney alumni made up 44% of all the lawyers listed.
Best Choice Schools: #22, Most Impressive Law School Buildings in the World
The Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law comes in at number 22 on the website “Best Choice Schools” in their listing of “The 50 Most Impressive Law School Buildings in the World.” Of the law school buildings on the list, 38 were in the United States, and five were in the Midwest. Among all of the buildings in the U.S., IU McKinney’s building, Lawrence W. Inlow Hall, ranked 13, and among those in the Midwest, the law school came in at number three.
Indiana State Bar Association (ISBA) - Erik Chickedantz Law School Fitness Award
Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law has twice been honored by the Indiana State Bar Association (ISBA) with the association’s Erik Chickedantz Law School Fitness Award. IU McKinney’s Office of Student Affairs received this award in recognition of their Wellness Week, during which students, faculty, and staff could take part in exercise, yoga, and healthy treats and meal options demonstrated by a chef. Other programs addressed emotional and mental health, and financial wellness.
