As a student at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, you’ll spend your days learning and working in Indianapolis—the heart of Indiana’s legal community.
The Legal Community: Connect with opportunities
At IU McKinney, you’ll learn from distinguished scholars and top-performing legal professionals and have opportunities to connect with many of Indiana’s current and up-and-coming leaders while you're in school. You’ll have countless opportunities to expand your professional network and get the hands-on experience you need to succeed—in the classroom, on campus, and in your daily life.
Inlow Hall: A beautiful place to study law
Lawrence W. Inlow Hall—your academic home—is a soaring, light-filled space featuring cutting-edge technology. There are rooms for quiet contemplation and spaces for group study. You’ll use state-of-the-art computer labs as well as the wireless Internet access that is available throughout the building. There’s even a cafeteria for snacking and refrigerators for when you want to bring food from home. And, of course, you’ll have access to the Ruth Lilly Law Library, one of the largest research libraries in the country, staffed by librarians with dual J.D./M.L.S. degrees.
The McKinney Lawyer: A special breed
At McKinney, you’ll learn not only to practice law, but also how to help others while doing so. You’ll learn about the importance of working on a pro bono basis, and of giving back to the people and communities around you.
You’ll also learn to lead. You’ll gain the skills, the experience, and the professionalism to make people stand up and pay attention. At graduation, you’ll be ready to join the many McKinney alumni who serve in the upper echelons of government, civic leadership, law practice, and business.
