The Trial Advocacy Competition is for any law student who plans to become a trial lawyer.
The competition begins with a Trial Advocacy Competition course in the spring semester. It is a highly selective program and accepts no more than eight students each year. To participate, you must audition during the fall semester.
As a course participant, you will represent IU McKinney in regional and national rounds of the National Trial Competition.
The competition requires you to participate in a mock trial. You will be judged on a variety of trial advocacy skills, including case preparation, opening statements, use of facts, the examination of witnesses, and closing arguments.
This competition is sponsored by the Texas Young Lawyers Association, the American College of Trial Lawyers, and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.
