The Deap Scholarship Program is a partnership between McKinney and IU Indianapolis’s DEAP program to academically and financially support students from underrepresented backgrounds as they pursue a legal education. Summer Law and Leadership Academy
The IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law Summer Law and Leadership Academy is a virtual experience designed to introduce undergraduate students to law school and various careers that they may pursue with a law degree. LexScholars
Aspiring law students from underrepresented racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds who possess the potential for law school success but may be unlikely to gain admission due to unfavorable LSAT scores and/or undergraduate grades can find opportunity with this innovative new pipeline initiative from LexScholars.
Participants in this program focused on developing sustainable models for improving access to law school will benefit from access to various resources, including:
- LSAT preparation;
- Law school admissions counseling;
- Financial education;
- Writing skills development, and;
- Wellness training.
Plus – There are no costs associated with the program and some participants will receive stipends and other financial aid.
Applications for LexScholars by AccessLex®, will be accepted starting February of 2023 through May of 2023!
