Courses & Certificates

The universe of the law is vast. As a McKinney student, you'll clearly see the big picture and gain skills that will help chart your way to find your place in the sun.

A lawyer must possess highly refined analytical skills, the ability to communicate well, and a sensitivity to ethical responsibilities. At McKinney, we're intent on educating keen problem solvers, effective mediators, and persuasive advocates. Toward these goals, our faculty has developed a curriculum rich in theory and technique, simultaneously responsive to societal and legal change and upholding the best traditions of generations of legal thinkers.

The McKinney core curriculum equips students with a thorough understanding of the law in preparation for a career at the bar as well as other legal pursuits. These legal fundamentals are complemented by a wide array of in-depth, innovative seminars and special courses, as well as clinical and internship programs.

The courses listed on the web site and in the course guide are current as of the time of publication. In any given year or semester, the courses scheduled will be selected from the course list, but not all of the courses appearing here will always be offered. From time to time, the faculty will offer additional courses that do not appear on this list.

The abbreviation P refers to course prerequisite(s). The abbreviation S/F refers to satisfactory/fail grading.
