Instructions for On-Campus Interviews (OCI)
There are two rounds of OCI:
- Fall Semester – this round of OCI generally takes place in early August before the fall semester begins. Rising 2L and 3L students are eligible to participate; 2L summer associate/clerk opportunities and entry-level, full-time roles are available during this round.
- Spring Semester – This round of OCI generally takes place mid-February, a few weeks after the ACE it! Job Fair. 1L, 2L, and 3L students are eligible to participate; 1L and 2L summer associate/clerk opportunities and entry-leve, full-time roles are available during this round.
Participating in OCI
Students interested in participating in OCI will review and apply to positions for that round in McKinney Works. All applications require an approved resume in McKinney Works. Resumes must be approved by an Office of Professional Development staff member prior to posting online. Allow 72 hours for the document to be reviewed and either approved or disapproved.
NOTE: If you are a transfer student, include your grade-point average and class rank; this information does not transfer.
The OCI application process:
Step One: To apply for an interview with an OCI employer, submit an electronic application through McKinney Works. This is sometimes referred to as a bid. The bidding process requires an electronic resume and application material submission; no paper resumes will be collected. All OCI positions will require an approved resume and some applications will ask for additional materials, such as: cover letter, writing sample, transcript, and/or references.
Step Two: Employers will review applications and select the students they wish to interview in McKinney Works. Students will be notified via email through McKinney Works if they received an interview.
Step Three: Students who receive interviews will utilize McKinney Works to schedule their interview slot. Interview times are first come, first served.
Students are encouraged to learn more by reviewing the resources and guidelines in the OCI – On Campus Interview Program folder in the Resource Library of McKinney Works.
