Justice Auen Kunkeaw, Supreme Court of Thailand, received his LL.B. (2nd Honors) from the prestigious Thamasat University in 1988. He passed the Thai Bar Examination with the highest score in 1989 and was admitted as Thai Barrister at Law. He later came to the United Stated and obtained his LL.M. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, Dallas, Texas.
Justice Auen received the highest score in the Judge Examination administered in 1992. He has held numerous judicial positions. Prior to his appointment to the Supreme Court, Justice Auen was Chief Judge of the Consumer Division, Civil Court; Chief Judge of Surin Family Court and Chief Judge of Thalinson Provincial Court (the first chief of the court); Judge in Nakorn panom Provincial Court and Saraburi Provincial Court. He was appointed to serve as Secretary to the Bankruptcy Division in the Supreme Court, Official Receiver in bankruptcy law at the Ministry of Justice, Representative of Thailand Judiciary in Judicial Colloquium in San Francisco in 2015, and Secretary to Thai Bankruptcy Supreme Court Justice Delegation Official Visit to the United States.
Justice Auen is a member of the Government Law Modification Committee on Business Enterprise, a member in the Committee of Drafting Judicial Practice in Bankruptcy Procedure, and a member of the Committee of Thai Bar Examination and Judge Examination. He also serves as Law Lecturer in Reorganization Law at Institute of Legal Education Thai Bar Association and Thamasat University.
Justice Auen has authored several well-known books in Thailand, including Bankruptcy Law Handbook (12th Ed.), Reorganization Law Handbook (9th Ed.), Civil Execution Handbook (3rd Ed.) and Partnership and Company Law (2nd Ed.).
