Speaker’s Bio For the past six years Katy has created a successful personal brand management company where she collaborates with clients on developing, positioning and marketing their personal brands. Over her career she has been blessed with an eye for the creative process and has translated that into creating dynamic and impactful personal brands. This includes finding out how they are unique, uncovering their "story" and natural joy factor. Their result is measurably increased self-confidence and an ability to effectively communicate their value and worth to develop new business, increase revenue and productivity. Clients include: law firms, law schools, major corporations such as Merrill Lynch; the US Navy; financial services; healthcare and individuals in the entertainment industry.
Katy is an internationally known public speaker on the subject of personal branding and travels educating audiences about the subject. Her new best-selling book, “Personal Branding In One Hour For Lawyers” (ABA Publications) is available.
In her prior career, she was a practicing securities attorney for thirteen years, where she practiced in-house, in a law firm, at the Securities & Exchange Commission in Washington DC and lobbied on Capitol Hill. Katy has an inherent understanding of these various work environments and what type of personal and business brands succeeds in each. Katy received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Indiana University and also has an undergraduate degree in Finance and Accounting. Katy serves on multiple boards of directors and is a member of two state bars. Katy lives in San Diego with her family and dog. She has been known to indulge in dark chocolate to excess!
