This year's honoree is Janice E. Kreuscher was a summa cum laude graduate from IU McKinney in 1984 and she has been actively involved in the Alumnae Network from its inception in 2000.  A journalist for 15 years before she attended law school, Kreuscher went on to serve as chief counsel of government litigation in the Office of the Indiana Attorney General, as well as  general counsel of IndyGo—the Indianapolis public transportation corporation. In 2014 she made a planned gift to the law school to establish the Jan Kreuscher Fellowship to fund summer public interest and public sector employment for students in order to make these areas more visible to them. With her gift, Kreuscher will make it possible for McKinney students to work in these areas during their summers while in law school. “Public-interest and public-sector law provided me with an opportunity to work with challenging legal issues in a team environment and make a difference in my community,” Kreuscher said. “Some students may decide they want to pursue careers in public interest or the public sector,” Kreuscher said. “Others may pursue different paths, but may have more respect and understanding for these areas and may be motivated to do some pro bono work because of their time spent in the public sector. This is why I'm establishing the fellowship.”
