This year's honoree is the Hon. Debra McVicker Lynch,'86.
Debbie McVicker Lynch graduated summa cum laude in 1986 from Indiana University McKinney School of Law, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Indiana Law Review. She has been a Magistrate Judge for the Southern District of Indiana since October of 2008. Since 2004, Judge Lynch has also served periodically as an adjunct professor at McKinney, teaching the Complex Litigation course. For the twenty years preceding her judicial appointment, she practiced in the business litigation group at Taft Stettinius & Hollister (formerly Sommer Barnard). In 2000, she was appointed Special Master in In re Bridgestone/Firestone Tires Products Liability Multidistrict Litigation. From 1986 to 1988, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Sarah Evans Barker. She received her undergraduate degree in English from the University of Miami and was a high school teacher for several years before enrolling in McKinney’s evening division in 1982.
