The Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law meets the educational requirements for licensure as a lawyer in Indiana and in all other U.S. States. At the outset of your enrollment in the JD program, we encourage you to contact the licensing agency for the State in which you desire to practice to seek additional information and guidance on licensure requirements beyond the McKinney School of Law’s curriculum (e.g., passage of the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE), character and fitness requirements). We also note that New York has a specialized skills competency and professional values requirement with which students will need to regularly monitor their curricular progress from the outset of their legal education. For all States, the National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE) provides a helpful summary of bar admission information for each State at this link: https://www.ncbex.org. Note: This disclosure is being made in compliance with federal regulation 34 CFR §668.43.
