
Islam A. Attia (LL.M., ’16)
A Ph.D. candidate in International Law at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva (IHEID). Mr. Attia also holds an LL.M. degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science as well as an LL.B. degree from Alexandria University (Egypt).

His interests range from general international law to international dispute settlement, international organizations, international economic law, legal theory, and foreign policy.
He conducts his doctoral dissertation research in the field of international courts and tribunals.
Mr. Attia worked as a legal assistant in the U.N. International Law Commission.
Before coming to Geneva, he worked as a diplomat in the Foreign Ministry of Egypt where he advised on several international legal disputes.
Previously, Mr. Attia worked in a law firm that specialized in international law in London.
He also lectured on international environmental law and international humanitarian law in several universities and governmental institutions in Egypt.
