Professor Shope’s research areas include artificial intelligence, blockchain, and other legal technologies (LegalTech); design thinking; cross-border movement of pharmaceutical and biotechnology products; and online learning which includes student interface research and intelligent tutoring systems.
Professor Shope is committed to improving the way people learn, collaborate, and communicate through various technologies.
Professor Shope teaches International Business Transactions, U.S. Corporate Law, English Legal Writing, AI and Law, Innovative Technology & Legal Practice, and Introduction to U.S. Law. He coaches the school’s VIS Moot Court team.
Professor Shope teaches in Chinese and English using a combination of Chinese and English materials.
