Judge Lisa Garcia Reger has lived in Southern Indiana for the past 30 years, where she began the practice of law as an associate attorney with Lorch & Naville, LLC in 1994. Reger became a partner/owner of the same law firm now known as Lorch Naville Ward, LLC, in 1999 where she primarily handled mediations, adoptions and various family law matters until her departure from the law firm in December of 2021. In addition to her law practice, in July of 2014, Reger was appointed to serve as a part-time Juvenile Court Judicial Officer in Harrison Circuit Court where she served until December of 2021. Judge Reger left the private practice of law to begin serving as a full-time Magistrate Judge for the Clark Circuit Courts in January of 2022. Judge Reger was elected to serve as the Clark Circuit Court 4 Judge and began her six-year term on January 1, 2025. Clark Circuit Court 4 is primarily responsible for handling Juvenile Delinquency, Children in Need of Services, Termination of Parental Rights, Paternity, Minor Guardianships, Adoptions, and ½ of the high-level felony cases filed in Clark County. Additionally, Clark Circuit Court 4 has two problem solving courts; Veteran’s Court and Family Recovery Court.
Judge Reger earned a Bachelor of Science degree and graduated with honors from Indiana State University where she studied health and biology. She later attended law school at Indiana University McKinney School of law and earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1994. Judge Reger now serves on the IU McKinney School of Law Alumni Board.
Judge Reger also serves on the Domestic Relations Bench Book Committee, the Behavioral Health Committee for Indiana Courts, Indiana Legal Services Board of Directors, Indiana Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges Board, and the Family Law Certification Board. Locally, Judge Reger serves on the Indiana University Southeast Chancellor’s Board of Advisors, the Board of Directors for the Arts Alliance of Southern Indiana and B.A.Y.A. (Beautiful as You Are) Board of Directors, an organization promoting self-confidence and self-esteem in young girls and teenagers. She is also actively involved with a local community group called Clark County CARES.
Judge Reger is the only Indiana judicial member of the Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproduction Attorneys. She is a member of the Indiana Judges Association, National Association of Women Judges, National Association of Drug Court Professionals, Indiana State Bar Association and the Clark and Floyd County Bar Associations.
Judge Reger and her husband Greg Reger (also an attorney) are actively involved in the Southern Indiana Community. They have raised their two children in Southern Indiana. Their daughter Jo, earned a bachelor’s degree with concentrations in theatre, music and dance from Indiana State University. She is living her dream of acting and singing in New York City. Their son Matthew, is an Eagle Scout and a proud graduate of Indiana University Southeast. Matthew presently works at the Louisville Science Center and Actors Theatre.
