In August, Death Row inmate Art Baird was granted clemency by Governor Mitch Daniels, who based his decision on narrow grounds, avoiding direct consideration of the justice and legality of executing someone who is mentally ill. Come hear discussion of the death penalty in Indiana, with special focus on Art Baird’s case and on the unresolved issue of executing the mentally ill.
