Rick Tapia, Co-Founder, Blockchain Alliance, Blockchain
Topic: Cryptocurrency & NFTs 360
Mr. Tapia is co-founder of the Blockchain Alliance. The Blockchain Law Alliance brings together experienced educators, lawyers, and technologists to advocate for clear and functional standards in the regulation of digital assets and to educate blockchain industry professionals, politicians and regulators, business executives, legal practitioners, law students, and other interested parties, about the intersection of blockchain technology and law. He served as Chie Executive Officer at Restored Consulting for four years prior to his enrollment in the JD program at IU McKinney School of Law. He also served as a Consultant to Blockchain Agility and Strategic Advisory for EZ Exchange. Mr. Tapia earned his JD from IU McKinney and B.S. in Business Management from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Professor Dr. Frank Emmert is the Professor of International, Comparative and European Union Law
Consultant & Arbitrator, IU McKinney School of Law. He received his Ph.D. from University of Maastricht (the Netherlands) and LLM from the University of Michigan School of Law.

Andrew Bull, Bull Blockchain Law LLP
Topic: Cryptocurrencies, ICO, and Capital Markets
Mr. Andrew Bull is the founding member of Bull Blockchain Law LLP. He received his JD from Drexel University Kline Law School. He specializes in technology-based transactions and provides legal advice and consultation to businesses and individuals operating in the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry. Mr. Bull founded a digital asset investment fund and ran one of the first cryptocurrency mining companies in the United States. He has been quoted in Forbes regarding digital assets and was one of the American Bar Association’s Top 40 Young Lawyers Award nominees in 2020.

Ms. Mosun Oke is the Managing Partner at Tope Adebayo LLP, a law firm in Lagos, Nigeria. She advises clients on technology and corporate matters. She received her LLM IP  from IU McKinney School of Law and LLM International Commercial Law from University of Leicester. Currently, Ms. Oke is an SJD Candidate at IU McKinney School of Law.

Cole Davis is the founder of Switchord, a copyright licensing and management platform providing back office functionality for the entertainment industry, and founder and CEO of Steamroller Systems, a software development startup creating sophisticated infrastructure for the back office functions of law, finance, and accounting. Mr. Davis was in tech corporate practice at Baker Botts and Wilson Elser. He received his JD from SMU Dedman School of Law.

Professor Xuan-Thao Nguyen is the Gerald L. Bepko Chair in Law and Director of the Center for Intellectual Property Law & Innovation at IU McKinney School of Law. Professor Nguyen was a professor of law at SMU Dedman School of Law, Dallas, Texas. She was in private practice at Fried Frank and Pryor Cashman, NYC. She earned her JD from Northeastern University School of Law.

Professor Jeffrey A. Maine, University of Maine School of Law
Topic: Crypto Nomads & Tax
Professor Jeffrey Maine, Associate Dean for Research, Maine Law Foundation Professor of Law, University of Maine School of Law, is an expert on tax law. Professor Maine has written eight books and numerous articles in the field. Formerly a practicing attorney at Holland & Knight in Tampa, Florida, he focuses his current research on the intersection of federal taxation and intellectual property.

Ms. Taleyarkhan, Director IU McKinney USPTO IP Clinic & Adjunct Professor, IU McKinney School of Law. Professor Taleyarkhan is currently a Legal Counsel for Innovation Protection at Whirlpool Corporation. She served as Associate Patent Legal Counsel at Whirlpool prior to her current appointment. She is a graduate of IU McKinney School of Law upon earning her BSChE from Purdue University.

Lora Moffatt, Head of U.S. Intellectual Property, Chanel Inc., NY, NY. Prior to joining Chanel, Ms. Moffatt was Director and Senior IP & Marketing Counsel at Hudson’s Bay Company in NYC. She was a partner at Crowell & Morning LLP in the IP and APRM Groups and co-chaired the IP Practice Group at Salans, NCY. Ms. Moffatt received her JD from University of Pittsburg School of Law.

Joseph N. Zarro, President-Latin America, Authentic Brands Group. He was Principal at Zarro and Partners, LLC., Executive Vice President, Strategic Affairs at Contra Software, LLC, and Senior Vice President at Authentic Brands Group. He spent seven years at LVMH as Vice President, Global Licensing and Associate General Counsel -Donna Karan International. He served as Assistant General Counsel at Kenneth Cole. Upon receiving his JD from NYU School of Law, Mr. Zarro became an Intellectual Property Counsel at Willkie Farr & Gallagher and other international law firms.

Claudia Cantarella, Chief Legal Officer, Broadway Technology.
Topic: Integrated Trading Process Applications
Prior to her current position, Ms. Cantarella served as General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at Broadway Technology. She was a partner and co-chair the IP Practice Group at Salans and a Special Counsel at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP. Ms. Cantarella received her JD from University of Virginia School of Law. She is a Fellow at the American Bar Foundation.
