Topic: THE CONFLICT BETWEEN THE TRADITIONAL PATRIARCHAL SYSTEM AND THE NEW GENERAL LAWS IN ZIMBABWE
This will specifically look into matters of Family law and Succession law. The laws in these areas under customary law have been drastically changed by the statutes enacted by legislature. The legislature is trying to move away from the traditional patriarchal system. However, the judges are still very conservative and continue to interpret the law in a patriarchal way thus frustrating the intention of the legislature.
