Bio
Stephanie Hoffer is the Lawrence A. Jegen III Chair in Tax Law at the Indiana University McKinney School of Law. Her scholarship focuses on United States federal income taxation, tax administrative procedure, and opportunities for financial wellness at the intersection of tax and disability law, work for which she has received a Fulbright award. She has presented her research both at home and abroad and has testified before the United States Treasury, the Internal Revenue Service, and legislative committees. She is a previous recipient of the John Minor Wisdom Award, and her writings on tax administrative procedure have been cited by federal courts. She is periodically a visiting professor at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Before joining the faculty at Indiana University, she was a professor at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and a visiting assistant professor at the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law. Professor Hoffer teaches federal income taxation of individuals and businesses, tax policy, international tax, and contract law. She is happy to be a volunteer for Down Syndrome Indiana.
