Magazine Publishes Excerpt from Professor Quigley's Latest Book
05/14/2014
The magazine Foreign Affairs published an excerpt from Professor Fran Quigley’s latest book, How Human Rights Can Build Haiti, coming in July from Vanderbilt University Press. This excerpt and the book focus on the important work of the Institute for Justice & Democracy in Haiti (IJDH) and Bureau des Avocats Internationaux, who advocate on behalf of the thousands of Haitians sickened and killed by the cholera outbreak that began in October 2010, eight months after the earthquake that devastated the nation.
Professor Quigley, ’87, is a clinical professor of law, teaching in the Health and Human Rights Clinic. Clinic students advocate for rights on behalf of the poor, and have a special focus on representing low-wage workers.
