Robert Grand, '82, to Become Managing Partner of State's Largest Law Firm

Robert Grand, ’82, currently the managing partner of law firm Barnes & Thornburg’s Indianapolis office, will take the top leadership position on November 1. The firm’s current managing partner, Alan Levin, is stepping down from the post, but will remain with Barnes & Thornburg.
Grand is a member of the law school’s Board of Visitors.
Previously, Grand served as administrative assistant to former Indiana Lieutenant Governor Robert Orr from 1979 to 1981, and during part of Orr’s time as governor from 1981 to 1982. Grand also is a former chairman of the city’s Capital Improvement Board.
In addition to being the largest firm in Indianapolis, Barnes & Thornburg ranks among the 100 largest firms in the country, according to rankings compiled by the National Law Journal. The firm has nearly 600 lawyers in 12 cities nationwide.
